Curtis Seelen

Curtis was elected as President of the Local in July 2023. He started in the State of Minnesota in 2022 at the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency as a Site Reassessment Records Specialist. In 2023 he moved to the Minnesota Department of Health as a State Program Administrator Technical Specialist.

Curtis joined the union because of the power of collective bargaining to negotiate fair treatment, help protect against discrimination and unfair dismissal in the workplace, and because of the better benefits and healthcare. He has since participated on the negotiations team for the 2025-2027 AFSCME contract.

He enjoys spending time outdoors, being with family, hanging out at coffee shops, and attending music concerts.
